If you have never bought online, then you will hopefully find some reassuring terms used. It is designed to be as similar to a normal walk around the supermarket as possible, so we have the words ‘Shopping Basket’  ‘View Basket’ and ‘Checkout’

 

Essentially, you ‘walk’ around the Schmuggles Online Shop, put the products you want into your shopping basket and then pay at a checkout when you are ready. You can check the contents of your basket at any point and can easily take things out that you don’t want.

Below is a short guide on how to but from Schmuggles Online.

 

Step One

Browse through the pages of our website and when you see a product you wish to purchase, click on the ‘Add to Basket’ button next to it. Each time you do this, you will be shown your basket, so you can see how much you have already spent and what items you have already put in the basket. You can take products out of the basket from this page too. You will see the name ‘Roman Cart’ when you view your shopping basket. This is a company that we use to add up the contents of your shopping basket,  a little like the cashier at a supermarket.

 

Step Two

When you have put everything you need into the basket you are ready to pay for your goods. Click on ‘View Basket’ at the top right hand corner of the page. From here, you can look at everything you have chosen to purchase, remove items from the basket and change the number of each item that you want. Choose a relevant postage method, and then click on ‘Checkout’ to pay for the goods.

 

Step Three

You will need to fill in the details of your address and, if required, the address the goods should be sent to. You will have to click the ‘I have read the terms and conditions’ button before being able to proceed. This may be a little boring, but they are important as they form part of the basis of your transaction with Schmuggles.

 

Step Four

The next screen will be secure. Look for a padlock at the bottom right of your screen and the letters https:// at the start of the website address. Once you have filled in your details, you can choose your preferred payment method. This can be either Credit/Debit Card using Protx or PayPal, if you have an account with them. You may also choose to pay by cheque. Please contact us before paying by cheque. You can also pay over the phone if you prefer using your Debit or Credit Card or even payment by cheque (we will dispatch goods once the cheque has been received and processed). If you encounter any difficulties whilst shopping with us, please feel free to contact us.

 

For additional security, you then be re-directed to the secure server of your own bank, where you will need to enter a password to authorise payment. If you do not know your password, please contact your bank. We have no control over this screen as is it your own bank. This is a recent addition designed to protect you whilst paying online.
