Schmuggles is passionately involved in the promotion of using breast milk as the first call for a child’s milk requirements up to the age of 12 months when they can start using cows milk. At this stage, breastfeeding can of course continue or be stopped and cows milk used instead. Prior to 12 months of age, cows milk simply does not provide the correct nutrients that your baby needs.

 

We used expressed breast milk when my wife went back to work, full-time. Our story is around this, but whether you want to use expressed breast milk once a month, because you are going back to work part-time or full-time, the same principles apply; you will simply need a different amount of milk.

 

Just remember that when you breast feed you should be relaxed and unstressed. The same goes with expressing.
